As I’m just counting down the weeks to CZT training in June, I’m all up in my pens, tangles and paper! Patterns are popping out at me, begging to be seen and drawn! But more about that in a minute…
I love triangles. But I hadn’t yet drawn a conclusion about the official Zentangle pattern, Rain. This week’s Diva Challenge brought me closer to this tangle and allowed me to see its beauty. Laura, the Diva, challenged tangle enthusiasts to use Rain and any tangleations of it. My husband also said he loves this one because of its “boundlessness.”
Last week, I went to New York City with my family. While I was looking at some photos of the city, the top of the Empire State Building caught my attention — well, this would be quite a cool tangle! Correct (5/23): This is ACTUALLY the Chrysler Building! Thank you Bonnie!

See that lovely pattern leading up to the spire? Yes! It called to me! It needed to be given a name. I searched in various places for a tangle similar to what I’ve stepped out, and haven’t found anything. If I’m wrong, though, and this isn’t “new,” please let me know in the comments – or, jeez, email me.
So, here is my DEBUT tangle, which I’ve named M’Spire.

Your husband is right! You have done some great shading.
Thanks for sharing the tangle.

Thanks Anne! I love the process of shading. It’s amazing how transformed a piece can be when adding the dimension of shading.

Nice tangle and shading.. I sort of really think that this building is the Chrysler building… after having lived and worked in NYC you know the buildings… and this is not the empire state building.. LOL… but I love the tangle… My Dad use to work in the Chrysler building and he loved it so very much… the agricultural design is really beautiful on this building… I will have to give your tangle a try.. thanks so very much for sharing.. Love, Light and Peace…Bonnie

So many fun things to love in your Rain tile. Lots of fun tangleations, pieces of Rain free floating, and a wonderful touch of Bunzo. So lovely.
And I really like your new tangle. I’ll have to give it a try. Thanks for sharing.
