When I learned about Zentangle almost six years ago, I didn’t know how much it would change my life.
I began slowly and curiously. I played with tangles, papers and pens. I took a couple classes. I tangled when I felt like it, and didn’t when I didn’t feel like it.
Zentangle is a release of pent-up creative fire inside me. It’s a place where my imagination runs on the page. It’s experimental. It’s expression. It’s unplanned.
Zentangle, most of all, boosted my “creative confidence,” and through it, I feel encouraged to stand up and call myself an artist.
This all comes up for me at this special time. Very soon — perhaps within the next few days! — I’ll be announcing that my self-published mandala coloring book and journal will be available to purchase through Amazon!
This book is the fruit of the many mandalas I have drawn over a few years as well as the substantial work on practicing (individually and with groups) a form of therapeutic writing, where we look at our sensations to learn more about what’s going on deeper within ourselves. This method has been extremely transformational for me! And now, I’m presenting that side-by-side 22 hand-drawn mandalas so you may color your way beyond your worried-mind-space and into the core positive place within you — your BEING!
Years ago when Zentangle came into my life, I worked through each week of Diva Challenges. Through the gathering of people and blogs Laura brings together, I see how much of a community element Zentangle has. You know the saying “it takes a village to raise a child”… well, I think in another way, it takes a village to raise each other up. The Zentangle community will remind everyone that we’re all artists, all capable of creative expression. We ARE creative expression, and we’ve got to let it shine!
Wonderful winter blessings to all!
