This week’s Diva Challenge asked us to go bigger in this Zentangle practice — maybe using a bigger space to tangle on or using a pen with a bigger nib.
I used a 5×7 scrap of cardstock and a Tombow calligraphy pen for this tile–two totally different materials for me in my tangling practice.
Things I noticed while tangling: The strokes and composition appear somewhat basic. I wanted to fill in some of the spaces with a finer pen–I felt like I needed to make it more complex. I love working in detail even when I find I get impatient with the process.
Often, I see parallels between my Zentangle practice and everyday life. I’m not playing small anymore.
I stepped out big time with my art show that is on display in Arlington, MA until Nov 30. This art show is just the beginning of something new …. I can feel it. New opportunities are brimming.

I love how the calligraphy pen gave your lines weighting. Great “tile”.
