Zentangle® is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Zentangle is a journey of self-discovery with a focus on the process of drawing.
The Zentangle method provides a structured path for creating art from patterns by breaking them down into elemental strokes. It requires no recognized artistic ability. Zentangle can open a door to art and creativity for people of all ages and abilities.

The Zentangle art form and method was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. Zentangle is a registered trademark of Zentangle, Inc. You can learn much more at zentangle.com and from taking a class with a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT).
According to The Book of Zentangle, Zentangle is
- an approach to mindfulness meditation
- an art form
- a life skill
- a perspective
- a tool
In the practice of Zentangle, one creates images using a pen, a square piece of fine paper, a pencil and structured patterns. Anyone can practice Zentangle, with or without prior artistic training. By following simple steps and forming a practice, you can enhance focus, fine motor skills and satisfaction of creating a piece of art.
I was introduced to Zentangle in 2010, and became certified to teach in 2014--that's when I became a CZT, a Certified Zentangle Teacher.
I have found calm, clarity and the satisfaction of creating beautiful images through this meditative art form. I'm honored to be able to share it with others!
