A few years ago I stumbled on the website “I Am the Diva, CZT.” Every Monday for the last four years, Laura (the Diva) posted a challenge for anyone with a pen and an urge to learn the Zentangle method. (Her challenges are mainly the topics of my blog posts here!)
Today, was the Diva’s 200th challenge, and so we’re celebrating!
Not only has Laura created a place to learn and get inspiration for Zentangle drawings, she’s also created a community. The list of links to those participants who’ve answered the challenge and then shared a photo of it on their blogs is always huge — and I know that there are so many more people who do the challenge but don’t post to share.
From that list, it’s been great to pop over to other people’s sides of the world and look at what they’ve created. Everyone is so supportive and encouraging with their comments left. I’ve loved that aspect on my blog and loved seeing that support on other’s blogs.
I envision a big “tangle” of yarn stretching from one part of the world to another, connecting us all.
Here’s my contribution. The topic was to use just one tangle — and make it your “go to” tangle. I’m often using Printemps. I remember first trying it out and not loving it at all. I just needed to loosen up, to see each spiral as connecting and relating to one another.
So if you haven’t started doing Laura’s challenges, I say GO FOR IT! There’s no pressure and there’s just a lot of learning and love. That’s one BIG reason I love the Zentangle method.
