The I Am the Diva challenge this past week was a “Use My Tangle,” and featured the tangle, Camelia, by Anne Marks.
I get very caught up in making something perfect — and also in bringing my own flavor to it, after being inspired by others. I wasn’t relaxed when I was doing this — though it did feel good to hold the pen and move it across the paper. I was very focused on doing it “right,” and by focusing too much on rightness, I lost the flow.
Mandalas were on my mind this past weekend. When drawing mandalas, I am in that flow.
I also was hit with an inspiration that I hope to be able to expand upon soon too. I don’t want to reveal too much — but what would you think of a hand-drawn mandala coloring “book,” available in print and digital — with images that can be imported into coloring apps like Paper (which is my favorite).
My book would be different from other mandala coloring books in not only its multi-platform flexibility, but that the mandalas would be hand-drawn — not computer-generated.
This made me supremely excited to think about doing!!
In other news, last night was the first night my husband and I could sit outside and eat dinner because the weather was so perfect!
Our deck is a wonderful extension of our home. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s fantastic. We’re elevated from the lawn and, for the city, we are in a fairly rural section.
Birds, trees and a running brook are in our backyard.
Ahhh!
