I played around with lines this past week. First a basic grid.
Finally, darken in the spaces made by the diagonals.
It’s so simple and recognizable, I figured it had to already be an established tangle. Yet, I haven’t found that it is.
You can find this pattern at the bottom of a Vans tennis shoe and in the structure of surfboards and cardboard chairs. Neither a honeycomb pattern nor an isogrid. Mike Sheldrake has called this pattern the “quarter isogrid.”
I found all this out after I did the step-out for this pattern in order to call it, in Zentangle terminology, a tangle.
So, I present to you the new tangle, Daviso.

Thanks, so very nice and love both of your tiles, your have light flowing hand even with your Cats. Mine do the same. But, just how did you make the above tile look folded? Couldn’t be the coffee stain?

This is really fun and satisfying to draw. It’s a nice one to have on hand when you need something geometric to add. Thanks!
